| Brent works full time for the State
of Hawaii: Hawaii Film Office and part time as one of Hawaii’s
Independent Filmmakers. His independent filmmaking began in 2001 upon
completion of his Communication Degree from the University of Hawai‘i.
Brent Co-directed the documentary Ke Kulana He Mahu: Remembering
a Sense of Place, which world premiered at the Smithsonian Institute,
followed by the Hawaii International Film Festival and San Francisco
Int’l Asian American Film Festival. Brent’s second project
Special, a documentary on two young transgender individuals
received screenings at the 2002 Ohina Short Film Showcase and Cinema
Paradise. His most recent project, One Night in Bangkok,
a fun and campy music video selected for the 2003 Ohina Short Film
Showcase and the gala opening night of the 2004 Rainbow Film Festival.
Brent has also worked full time in local and national commercial
production. He has interned for local production company Pacific
Focus as well as joined local commercial production house Shooters
Film Production. Brent’s recent national credits include work
on Sheryl Crow’s “Soak up the Sun,” Music Video,
Lilo & Stitch’s ABC Special, and American Idol Season
3: Hawaii Auditions.
Brent has also worked closely with the Universal ShowQueen Pageantry
System. He has produced and directed the pageant openings for the
2001, 2002, and 2003 Universal ShowQueen Pageant. As well as, producing
the 2004 Universal ShowQueen DVD.
Currently Brent enjoys assisting with state related film needs
and activity at the Hawaii Film Office. The Film Office works in
conjunction with the four county film commissions and works to further
promote and perpetuate Hawaii’s film industry.
